Dr. Narong Prangcharoen is an internationally acclaimed composer, educator, and arts leader, renowned for his evocative musical language and visionary contributions to contemporary music. As Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, he has propelled the institution to achieve world rankings for the first time in its history, establishing among the leading music institutions globally. Under his leadership, the college has achieved international accreditation, expanded global partnerships, and advanced research and innovation initiatives, reinforcing Thailand's presence on the global music stage. 

As a composer, Dr. Narong's music is performed by prestigious orchestras worldwide, including the Baltimore Symphony, Dresden Philharmonic, and Pacific Symphony. Recognized for his masterful orchestration, he has been praised as "a composer with a gift to create orchestra color" by the Los Angeles Times. His compositions, known for their distinctive fusion of Asian heritage with Western contemporary techniques, have earned him major awards such as the Charles Ives Award, Guggenheim Fellowship, and Barlow Prize. He is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Thailand International Composition Festival (TICF), nurturing the next generation of composers and strengthening Thailand's role in the global contemporary music scene. His works are published by Theodore Presser Company, solidifying his legacy as a defining voice in 21st-century composition.
